Where would you go to get Cheesecake in NMB?

Or does anyone know of a bakery/pie shop that would have great desserts? When I go on vacation...the diet goes out the window.

Looked in Yellow Pages and saw several bakeries. One was actually a cheesecake place.

Didn%26#39;t see place I was looking for listed. Small pie shop on Sea Mountain Hwy in Cherry Grove. Across street from Boulieau%26#39;s. Next to Basil%26#39;s Pizza towards the beach.

Never tried it but have read signs in window many times. Nothing baked in advance. Leave order and pick up next day.

Maybe Gonefishin%26#39; or ncgator can help with name of the place.

pop, you are trying to think of The Lil Pie House, but it no longer is. The building is there, but no business is there.

I was afraid of that. Could swear the signs were still in window and cake boxes stacked inside last time I looked in.

Can visualize sitting at Basil%26#39;s eating and seeing people going in. Way my vacation mind works that could have been from trip ten years ago.

Boulineu%26#39;s IGA has a decent bakery. Read that they do wedding cakes so it%26#39;s not your typical grocery story bakery.

Heard from locals, Captain%26#39;s Plank buffet on Sea Mountain has great deserts. I wouldn%26#39;t know. Never have room for desert after buffet.

???? Hoskins (very good fried chicken and a popular restaurant) sells whole and 1/2 pound cakes. I think they sell some other desserts too?

Hoskins, yeah!!!!!!!!! DH usually buys a half pound cake and it is very good. I have never bought a whole pie and don%26#39;t even know if they sell them, but their chocolate pie and coconut pie are as good as Mother made. Yes, if you want to do some serious damage to your waistline go to Hoskins for lunch and dessert!

Just returned from Cherry Grove, and yes, the businesses in that building are no longer. Pie shop, hot dogs, and realtor are all gone. I did see some folks in there looking around, so something new is around the corner. Speaking of Basil%26#39;s, they expanded their %26#39;dining%26#39; area inside and did a few other minor renovations. It%26#39;s nice and pizza was better than ever!

Someone (probably pop) recommended D鈥橝nnunzio鈥檚 Bakery in North Myrtle on hwy 17 around 10th Ave South to us. I don%26#39;t know if they have cheesecake, or not, but I hear that everything else is really good. So, it may be worth a stop to see if they have it.

wahoo, even tho it is not in NMB, The Sea Captain%26#39;s House has over the top wonderful desserts. They have a full time pastry chef.

I know this is NMB forum, but if you happen to be in Surfside....the Crystallite Cafe is great! The dessert case will make your mouth water. I think they sell desserts %26amp; pastries both by the serving and whole.

Thanks to everyone for your help, I have a while before I%26#39;m on vacation with the family so I%26#39;ll keep checking in on this board for helpful hints and info.
