Hey everyone. Thanks ahead of time for anyone reading this and any advise given. We are from Traverse City, MI heading down to Myrtle Beach for our kids High School Spring Break. They are 15 %26amp; 16 year old daughters with 2 friends. We have searched the web, including this site and have a nice list going with some of the things we want to check out. We are staying at the Ocean Reef Resort (7100 N. Ocean Blvd.) We have had a friend stay there and said it was great...but have seen both good and bad reviews on this site. We are planning on checking out Broadway at the Beach, which looks like it will be an all day adventure. Definitly looking forward to the Ripleys Aquarium. Haven%26#39;t decided on a show to check out, but probably be between the Cirque show, or the Dixie Stampede. What would be better for the kids? Plus, I see there are 2 Tangers Outlet Malls, are they both worth visiting? or is one better than the other. This will be reserved for a rainy/cool day. I do have a list of many other things to do, but perhaps I am missing something that you all would say you always heck out when going to Myrtle Beach. And which restaurant do you always go to. I am planning on going to Margaritaville, plus have heard great reviews on the Liberty Steakhouse. What else is there to do specifically for the 16 yr olds? Hopefully it will be warm and nice enough to hang out at the beach. I can%26#39;t wait to jump into the ocean! Thanks again for any input. Charlie.

River City Cafe is close by and they have good food. If you want pizza California Pizza is a good choice so many toppings to choose from up to and including Filet. A stroll on Boardwalk downtown Myrtle Beach might be a possibility for you.

Oh def. check out Nascar Racing, youd have to drive but its totally worth it.
We just got back from a first time spring break trip. Broadway at the Beach was nice -- a lot of high end knick-knack stores. The Ripley%26#39;s Aquarium was great. They have a lot of fun interactive exhibits your kids should enjoy. Make sure you see the fish feeding show.
We ate at Goobers on Hwy 17 - Decent pub grub food and fun atmosphere for the kids. The Dixie Stampede was fun and I think teenagers would even enjoy it. The food was surprisingly good.
We had a couple of 70-plus degree days and my girls (8 %26amp; 10) did swim in the ocean. I tried it, but only lasted a few minutes. The water was really cold. But, as a fellow Lake Michigan swimmer, you may be able to tough it out:-)
As a new rental property owner in Ocean Lakes Family Campground (south Myrtle Beach) who lives in Atlanta, I would recommend Broadway at the Beach (google it) over Tanger (it%26#39;s the same old, same old), especially for your teens! Lots of walking but beautiful there. Yes to Ripleys Aquarium, per my son %26amp; daughter-in-law (24 yrs old) during New Year%26#39;s %26#39;08. Angelo%26#39;s Steak %26amp; Pasta, award winning and family owned, and there is an early bird special, including a nice buffet. Have a great vacation!
The kids would enjoy Dixie Stampede more than Cirque. The new Coastal Grand Mall is teenager girl heaven. It has all the coolest stores for teens and also a big, clean movie theatre. It%26#39;s located just south of Broadway at the Beach. I%26#39;m not a big fan of chain restaurants, but we do like El Burro Loco adjacent to the Nascar Speedpark and Landry%26#39;s Seafood both at Broadway at the Beach. Also, my teens always like going to the Hard Rock. Better bring that wetsuit for the jump in the ocean! : )
The girls would enjoy the outlets in Conway on the 501. Only a 10-15 minute drive up from Broadway at the Beach. Much better deals and shops here than at the malls or at the Tanger outlets next to Wal Mart. In addition to Broadway, dont forget about Barefoot Landing at the Myrtle/NorthMyrtle line. It is much like Broadway, but has more of a nature/laid back feeling. Libert Steakhouse at Broadway is always great, ask for a seat on the water for a nice view. They also make their own brews if you like that kind of thing. Get up and walk the ocean at 6 am for some great shells to take home as souveniers. If you like animals, there is always the Aligator adventure at Barefoot Landing, I really enjoyed that. Dont go to any of the seafood buffets unless you want to spend a pretty penny. Some have 5 dollar off coupons in the local coupon books, but it still comes to almost $20 a person, and the food is sometimes cold and sub-par. The girls are at the age where they might enjoy Dicks, they are rude to you and make fun of you, but all in good fun. You have to be easy going to enjoy it and cant be uptight or a prude. A little drive south is Murrells inlet, which is where you will find some of the best retaurants, esp. the seafood. Hit up the local Beach shops for cheap souveniers (eagles, wings, bargain beachwear). Hope this helps and enjoy!
