We are hoping to go to Kiawah in late May.We are discouraged about prices in hotels. We are in our 60%26#39;s- active- love the beach.We would love to have a screened porch overlooking either the lagoon or ocean. Any suggestions?
Moderate priced hotels
The only hotel on Kiawah is the luxurious, and very expenisive, Sanctuary Hotel. Most visitors rent one of the many privately owned ';villas ';(condos or cottages).
Villas directly overlooking the ocean will, of course, be the most expensive. Other great water views are of the Kiawah River, Night Heron Pond, or any of the larger inland lagoons. None of the villas are more than an easy walk to the beach.
There are various management companies listing Kiawah rentals, but you might get your best deal by renting directly from a property owner. Check the Kiawah listings on www.vrbo.com to get an idea of what is available.
