If the weather is good you will have to send someone to Red%26#39;s to reserve a table for all of you and your dogs. (Red%26#39;s Ice House is on Shem Creek, and I suspect you won%26#39;t be the only ones there - LOL!) It%26#39;ll be packed - in the paper today it was stated that some 30,000 people do the bridge run.
I don%26#39;t know for sure about the water taxis but my guess is - yes - they%26#39;re running every day. Here%26#39;s a link...there is a special area for the Bridge Run. http://www.charlestonwatertaxi.com/index.htm You would probably like today%26#39;s weather for running - very cool and overcast (but it should be warm from tomorrow out). Happy running!
omg! 30,000 people! that%26#39;s insane. do you think i%26#39;ll have trouble by myself thurs aft/eve - friday morn with traffic? that%26#39;s why i want to rent a bike!
Be thankful you have a room!

Traffic will probably be pretty heavy starting on Thursday but getting around Charleston/Mt. P is pretty easy so no worries for you. Sounds like you%26#39;re planning a lot of activities before the bridge run...do pace yourself as there is a nice incline on the bridge after you%26#39;ve already run a little over 2 miles (or there abouts). Biking the bridge on Friday may not be the best idea as they%26#39;re calling for rain and the bridge will more than likely be crowded with folks running (and unfortunately folks here are not so good with ';lane etiquette'; and often end up in the bike lane).
There are several good spas if you%26#39;d like to treat yourself to a little pampering before the run. Definitely hit the shops on King Street if you want to do a little shopping. If it is raining, the Aquarium is always a good rainy day activity.
For good seafood over on Shem Creek, I%26#39;m a fan of Vickery%26#39;s or Water%26#39;s Edge. Red%26#39;s is more of the bar scene/outdoor casual dining if that%26#39;s more your style and they are dog friendly. As someone w/o dogs and a big aversion to animals being around where food is served (too many years in the F%26amp;B business), I%26#39;m not a fan of Red%26#39;s. Honestly it%26#39;s pretty hard to go wrong with seafood anywhere on Shem Creek so enjoy!!
Good luck with the run!
thanks for all the info and help! greatly appreciated!
